O' Donnell 2019 CCS Spring Sports Honor Coach for Swimming & Diving

The Central Coast Section has announced Terry O' Donnell as the  2018-19 CCS Spring Sports Honor Coach for Swimming & Diving.

The Central Coast Section Honor Coach Award is presented to those coaches whose colleagues believe have made outstanding contributions to that sport at their school, within their league, in the community, and to the CCS. At the time of nomination, they must be actively coaching and have been coaching their respective sport for a minimum of five years at the varsity level. Attributes considered are: maintenance of professional standards of conduct, general service to the respective sport, outstanding coaching accomplishments, additional contributions to school and community, and being a role model and inspiration to athletes, coaches, teachers, administrators, parents and the public.

Coach O'Donnell was selected by his Central Coast Section colleagues and will be recognized during the current 2018-19 spring season.

Terry O’Donnell In the last 25 years as head Swimming Coach at St. Francis High School, Coach O’Donnell has always put his student athletes first while working tirelessly to improve the program. Before the start of each season Coach O’Donnell sits down with each member of the team to go through the athletes individual and team goals, with the information he gathers he learns how to push the St. Francis swimmers to be their very best so they can meet their team and individual goals. Over the past ten years he has worked tirelessly on getting lights around the pool. He knew this would improve the school, the facility and therefore the program giving the athletes better opportunities. This fall, through his persistence and diligence the pool facility was lit. Coach O’Donnell sets the example of setting goals and the work and sacrifice that it takes to accomplish them in the pool, on the deck, and in life.
